The first ever, Modern Art Design Exhibit, showcasing a select group of artisans was held at the historic Gladstone Hotel in their newly restored main ballroom on Sunday, July 16, 2006.
M.A.D.E was conceived and organized by local designers, Hoi and Sarra Tang and will involve artisans based in Montreal, New York, Los Angeles and Toronto. This carefully selected group blends conceptual thinking, well-defined aesthetics and detailed craftsmanship to create diverse works from painting to fashion to sculpture. M.A.D.E provides a forum for artisans to present new work and encourages joint projects between the various disciplines.
The classically restored Gladstone Hotel in the new arts district provides the perfect backdrop for this showcase of contemporary art and design.
